at least it is for me anI wanted to offer you my perspective ohow I look at these Mac books now I sebasically three categories we're nogonna go into like specs and upgradeI'm just talking about the base modelso in 2020 we have three models we havthe MacBook Pro 16 inch we have thMacBook Pro 13 inch and we have thMacBook Air now all of these Mac bookhave the upgraded magic keyboard which think makes a lot of difference if yowould have asked me last year basically would not recommend thMacBook Pro 13 inch or the MacBook Aifor that matter I would only recommenthbook pro 16-inch and that's actually whI got the MacBook Pro 16 inch I made review about it if you want to check iout I have a video where I answer mosfrequent questions and a couple oproblems with the MacBook Pro but itoday's video I wanted to talk about whthis is not necessarily the bespurchasing decision for everyone let'get started so the 16 inch MacBook Prthat I own is a beast I mean if we'rtalking performance like this thinrocks the performance is so insane othis computer that it requires two fanand an upgraded cooling structure treally cool this computer down theactually even made it a bit thicker sif you want like top down besperformance ever this is the one to gebut I'm willing to bet that most peoplwatching this video are basicallwasting their money buying the neMacBook Pro 16 inch let me explain whmost people don't use MacBooks to edi4k projects or do 3d models they ustheir computers to browse the web watcyoutube videos like this onand for that purpose I think you're juswasting your money if you're gettinthis one plus the big size of this thinI mean it's got a pretty hefty width anit's like 2 kilograms so it's heavy it'big it's thin but I still believe thathis is a very big computer to fit iyour back pocket and for that purpose would not recommend this if you plan tvisit a lot of coffee shops travel a loit's just not worth it now if you'rgonna game on it then yes technicallspeaking the MacBook Pro 16 inch it doehave the CPU and a GPU to play somgames especially if you install windowon it which you can in case you didn'know but I personally I would still gelike a powerful PC laptop you can get smuch more bang for the buck if you wana game a bit on your macbook then yeathe MacBook Pro 16 inch will deliver noI personally I use this for heavy 4editing and when I say happy 4k editinI'm talking like 10 to 20 minutes lon4k videos for YouTube so we're notalking like cinema perforand I use Final Cut Pro and thicomputer is basically designed to worbrilliantly with Final Cut Pro so whdid I get the MacBook Pro 16 inch well will soon reveal why I would personallif I was to get a new MacBook Pro todaI would get the MacBook Pro 13 inch buI'll get into that in a sec first of allet me explain why I got the MacBook Pr16 inch the reason is I'm a minimalisand I want to have a computer that'good for everything for browsing the wewatching YouTube videos making YouTubvideos and anything I would consideusing a computer for but unless yoactually need that type of performancthat type of heavy 4k editinperformance you don't really need thMacBook Pro 16 inch in my opinion no would go with something more like thMacBook Pro 13 inch this is my favoritMac this is my wife's computer but would definitely get this if I was tpick a new MacBook Pro today I wouldefinitely get this one because it'light it's portable and it's got thcooling situation and the CPU to handl4k editing now it doesn't have dedicated GPU like the MacBook Pro 1inch but the Intel iris processor ipretty good and it works well in 4editing you will perhaps notice a slighlag and you're exporting times won't bas dramatic as on the MacBook Pro 1inch but I'm thinking hey if you want more fluitimeline scrubbing experience you cajust set the Final Cut Pro to proxy modand you'll basically notice ndifference whatsoever and when it cometo exporting time we're basicalltalking 10 minuteexporting time on the MacBook Pro 1inch versus 20 minutes exporting time othe MacBook Pro 13 inch so my point iyou're gonna wait either way it's lik10 or 20 minutes do you really want tpay that much extra so you don't have twait a lot now if you're looking for workhorse I still think that this is good purchasI will II do and I would get this in heartbeat today the reason why I didn'get this one is because when I was tbuy a new MacBook Pro earlier this yeathe MacBook Pro 13 inch had thbutterfly keyboard and I just I couldn'bring myself to get them the butterflkeyboard it would have worked but awould have been such a downgrade I jusdidn't want that I wanted a regulakeyboard like I had on my old MacBooPro 13 inch from late 2013 and that'what I got in the MacBook Pro 16 incbut now today if you get a MacBook Pr13 inch you get the magic keyboard athey call it make sense right now the 1inch MacBook Pro only has two USB see idoesn't have four USB sees like thMacBook Pro 16 inch but to be completelhonest those two extra USB sees they cakiss mine now for those how you say thathe MacBook Pro 13 inch is not gooenough for 4k editing you are on mistemister and missus because I've added smuch 4k projects on my old macbook pr13 inch late 2013 model it was a bislow but it did get the job donespecially when anything in proxy modnow the MacBook Pro 13 inch does nohave a dedicated GPU but what it doehave is actually a t2 chip whicactually helps it to render h.265 videfiles so if you're editing say 4k clipfrom a GoPro you will notice that youMacBook Pro 13 inch handles it like pro which is fitting because it'actually a pro model but so this is mpersonal favorite this is what I woulpick today not kidding I'm nocomplaining about my macbook pro 16 incbut this would have been a much morportable solution for me now sure thscreen is smaller but you know what wheyou're and you're sitting like thiyou're pretty close to the screen anyou really don't need to have that mucscreen real estate in my personaopinion okay now last but not least thMacBook Air now my wife she used to owthe 11 inch MacBook Air do you remembethat one that was portable as craztoday the difference between the MacBooAir and the MacBook Pro 13 inch it's nothat huge it's a bit lighter it's a bithinner but it's practically the samcomputer now you don't have the MacBooAir here but I did my homework I havread a lot of tests I've watched a loof videos about the MacBook Air now recommend the YouTube channel Mac'tech they do awesome videos where thetest computers like MacBook Pros versuMacBook Airs where you can definitelsee the performance on each computer nothe way it can tell is that the MacBooAir is lacking two things one a goocooling construction which basicallmeans that when you are exporting heav4k video files it's gonna get reallreally slow that's what the computedoes in order to not overheat it wilclock down the CPU and it will take youwhile to export 4k video files the othething that it lacks is the touch bar anI gotta say after spending a couple omonths with the touch bar I coulpersonally live without it it's gimmick doesn't really do that muchonestly I fell for it I actuallthought that I would be using the toucbar and Final Cut Pro I didn't it's nofaster in any way to be completelhonest I actually miss the function keyso I'm actually saying that this is plus on the MacBook Air because thMacBook Pro 13 inch and a MacBook 1inch only have a touch bar option now will recommend the MacBook Air for lik90% of people watching this video anthe reason is most people use their Mabooks to browse the web and watcyoutube videos and write emails anwrite letters and books stuff that don'really require a maxed-out MacBook Pr16 inch computer you know what I mean sit's like it's portable definitely hathe specs there's nothing wrong with thspecs on the MacBook Air but it's thcooling situation that bothers me iyou're gonna do a lot of 4k editing anif you're just gonna edit like you knoa 1080p video or just do an occasiona4k video edit then yeah I think thMacBook Air is probably sufficient agaiI used the MacBook Pro 13-inch late 201for my 4k editing I edited ovethousands of videos on that machine sthe MacBook Air is definitely portabland it's powerful and I'll get the jodone for most tasks now some people wilargue that if you just spend a littlbit extra money you can get the MacBooPro 13 inch and get more performance anI woulan extent but don't forget also that iyou add a couple of dollars you can geextended storage instead of 25gigabytes you can get something like 51gigabytes so if that is important to yomaybe that's something to consider noif we're talking prices then come on thMacBook Air is definitely the cheapesoption out there and I personallbelieve that the MacBook Air will givthe most bang for the buck for mospeople watching this videhonestly guys I think all Mac books argood these daythat's what Apple does they makproducts that work good for most taskexcept for gaming that's the reaAchilles heel on the MacBook Pros anthe MacBook Airs other than that really think that either MacBook is gooenough again either you want somethinthat's ultra portable but I don't see big difference between the MacBook Pr13 inch and a MacBook Air so you do ione of those is good I would suggesthat if you're gonna edit 4k videos gethe MacBook Pro 13 inch but if you juswant to browse the web and watch youtubvideos get the MacBook Air and thMacBook Pro 16 inch who's that for would say for people who really neeworkhorses machines that are capable ojust 1years and so I'm working on a new placand this workplace it's in an area wherthere is a lot of seagullok I'll live in a south of sweet I don'like you but I'm kind of kind oterrified of seagulls so the thing iseagulls they will put their nests alover the place this is nesting seasoand they put their nests on top obuildings and when you get close to thbuildings these seagulls they just swoodown and attack you like don't actuallattack you I mean I've heard of somcases where sea goes actually picksomebody in the head but usually it'mostly that they just swooped down anjust give you a big scare and just glike wow wow you know and it's reallterrifying I don't know if you've haany incidents with seagulls but they cabe really scary this one day I was jusgoing home from work and this biseagull just swooped down and justerrified me and it just got into likthis shocked panic mode and I just starto run and I tripped and I fell and hit my elbow and I hope hit my knepants got ruineyeah I'm basically terrified but nexweek is gonna be different I've got aumbrella with me and I'm just gonna walaround with this umbrella and I'm jusgonna feel a bit safer at least I hopthere's umbrellas gonna help I don'know anyway what else I know not a loof people are interested in my weighissues as you probably heard before have some weight issues so what am doing about that well I'll tell you I'using this little app on my smartphonit's called life some if you haven'heard of it it's this brilliant littlapp where you basically just councalories I was kind of inspired by Matthe Avella another youtuber recently orecently it was actually a quite a whilago he made you know how he counted calories for thlast 30 days um I'm interested to doinsomething similar I just want to maksure that I don't over eat everythinand I eat I just put it in the app anthe app lets me know how much it is anat the end of the day I see how mancalories I've eaten basically and it'also connected to the health app on thiPhone so it measures how much I walk usually don't exercise I just walk ithere's any exercise I do it's juswalking I'm a walker not a runner hatrunning but walking yeah I could I coulwalk for hours so this app seems reallcool and I love like you can like scathe barcodes of products and so far it'pound every product I've shown you cameasure stuff and then you know put ihow many grams or ounces or whatever yowant to use well see how it goes I wilsee how does month unfolds I'm sort oyou know I'm not counting on losing lika lot of weights in a month or so but just want to see how much I'm eating iamong and what I should stay away froyou know like I'm actually quitsurprised just a just a piece of breahow much calories isn't a piece of breaand let's like mind bottling some saucethat I've used that I didn't think haany calories they have a lot of calorieand it's just it's just nutso it's a fun thing it's a folloproject we'll see how it goeanyway if you have any tips for me how can lose
