these headphones come includewith carrying pouches so if you do plaon traveling a lot with either of thesheadphonei do recommend that you invest in a harshell casbut regardless the crusher evos comincluded with a much more durable poucthan the sony's the outside is thickethe inside is lined witthicker fake fur and there are evededicated pockets for your cableand in general skull candy has alwayreally knocked it out the park when icame tcarrying pouches now when it comes tthe headphones themselveboth of these headphones have good builquality they're both fully collapsiblthey both have a good click to them wheyou extend their headbanand they both have zero cracking osqueaking whenever you handle theor flex them but when it comes to theimaterialthe sonys have a mostly textured plastibodnow there's nothing wrong with having mostly plastic body but the crusher evodo feeway more premium when you've got them iyour handthe majority of the body of the evos haa soft touch feel to ithe top of their headband has a hit oalcantarunderneath the handband there's paddesilicone and when we get to the ear padthe crusher evos have way better feelinof the rathan the sony's the leatherette on thevos feels much smoother ansupple and there's even a slight graito iwhich is nice whereas the leather righon the xb900nfeels decent but it just doesn't feel aluxuriouas the leatherette on the evos so wheit comes to build quality the crusheevofeel way more premium than the sonxb900now when it comes to fit that's a wholother story plainly said the xb900ns arwamore comfortable than the crusher evofor multiple reasonfirst off when it comes to clampinforce even though both of thesheadphones are bighead approvethe sonys have way less clamping forcthan the evothe sonys have a loose fit whereas thevos have a firmer fiand when it comes to weight since thsony's weigh in at 254 gramthey're much easier to forget that yohave on whereas the evos weigin at a hefty 310 grams so you neveforget that you have these headphones oand you really notice thewhen you're walking around with them oand when it comes to the padding othese headphones the sonys havmuch better padding as well first ofsince the sonys have a good amount osoft padding underneattheir headband this headband doesn'create a hotspot on the top of your heawhich is super important for long ussessionwhereas since the silicone padding othe evos is much stiffethis headband does like to create a hospot on the top of your heaat the one hour mark i can musclthrough it but the hour and a half houmaris when i start to either shift thiheadband back and fortor i'll take these headphones off antake a five minute breaand when it comes to the ear pads thear pads on the sony's arway more spacious than the ear pads othe evothe ear pads and the evos are vercramped even fomy average sized ears whereas the sony'should be able to fit most people jusfinso overall if you're looking for a paiof headphones to wear fohours and hours on end the sony's arthe obvious choice herthey have less clamping force they'rmuch lighter making them easier tforget that you have otheir headband doesn't create a hot spoon the top of your head and their eapads are much roomiewhereas the evos are really only goofor like an hour long listening sessionow when it comes to tech specs both othese headphones charged via a usc port as they should and when it cometo battery lifthe evos have an advertised battery lifof 40 hours whereas the sony'have an advertised battery life of 3hours with their anturned on but keep in mind you caalways stretch out the battery life othese headphones if you use them wittheir anor ambient mode turned off and also keein mind if the battery life on the evoreally is dependent on how you use themore bass means less battery life anless bass means more battery lifnow when it comes to bluetootconnectivity both of these headphonecan only be connected tone device at a time so if you're power useyou're not going to be able to hotswawith either of these headphonenow ultimately it's not a huge deal iyour headphones have simultaneoumulti-device connectivitbut it is nice to have but morimportantly when it comes to watchinmovies or videos on your phonboth of these headphones have zerlatency across the boarwhether you're using an iphone or anedge device which is always greabut when it comes to audio codecs thevo's only have support fospc and aac whereas the sony's havsupport fospc aac aptx and aptxand they also have support for ldawhich is sony's owhigh-res audio codec now if you're aiphone user this doesn't really mattebecause iphones top out at aaanyways and like we've seen with sony'newer anc headphonelike the 1000xm4s or huron3sony is currently phasing out aptreports in favor of ldabut still if you want to you can stiluse a wired connection with either othese headphones because both of thesheadphones still havan easy to reach 3.5 millimeter audijacbut now let's talk about listening tmusic with these headphoneeven though both of these headphones obass head headphones these headphonesound and perform very differently froone anothenow the sony's have a fully customizableq so you can make them sound howeveyou wanand you can have different preset esettings for different listeninsituationbut i know what you're really wonderinabout here is the bass now the xb900nhavway more head rattling bass than youaverage pair of headphoneand like i mentioned in the past havinthe clear bass slider on the 1000xm4 seto 1it's like having the bass on the xb900set to 4. with the xb900s you are definitely gointo feel the bass in your musibut bass isn't everything with the xb90inch you're also going to gethe better instrument separation anevery better clarity hernow i'll admit having all of the extrbass on the sony'is a lot of fun but having a lot of bascan get old after a whilso with the sony's if you want to switcit up and go for a neutral eq for while you can do thaand like i just said you're also gointo enjoy the better clarity and betteinstrument separation herwhereas with the crusher evos thesheadphones are all about bass plainlsaid the bass on the xb900n just doesn'comanywhere near the evos the xb900will rattle your head but the evo's argoing to rattle your heaso much that your teeth are going tchatter to the point where they'll matcup a tootalright okay that's that's a littlexaggerated but the bass on thesheadphoneis insane now the bass on the evos itight and welmanaged it doesn't roll off like thoriginal crusherand it doesn't muddy up your music whicis good the bass on the evos imore like getting punched by youheadphones because this bass is actuallvery precisnow the evo's have your standard 4millimeter drivers just like the xb900but what makes the evo special is thathey have a separate pair of driverthat put out the bass on thesheadphoneessentially acting as vibration motornow basically these headphones are albass and vocals because the instrumenseparation and soundstage on thesheadphoneisn't the best but quite honestly you'rnot really going tcare because the bass on thesheadphones is just overwhelminand distracting and besides you're herfor the bass and in that casthe bass on the evos will over deliveso overall when it comes to sounquality the sony xb900ns arfar more versatile than the crusher evobecause they have more than enough hearattling bass to satiatyour average user but thanks to theifully customizable ethey can also be used for differenlistening situationor if your tastes change then the sony'can keep uwhereas the crusher evos are a one ponthese headphones are all about bass anthey have a way more and much mordramatic bass than the sony'now even though the evo's are one-trick pony they'ran insane amount of fun with the evoyou can't help a grin when you'rusing these headphones now even thougyeah these headphones do hava few preset eq settings to choose froand they have personalized audipersonally i would still prefer if thesheadphones just had a fully customizablethat i can control like the sony'now like i mentioned in the crusheevo's full review even though thesheadphones are tremendous amount of pure dumb futhese headphones are better suited as pair osecondary headphones since the evos jusaren't as comfortable to weaas the sony's they aren't great for lonuse sessions or for commutinand the evos are also missing activnoise cancellationow granted the sony's don't block out tremendous amount of noisbut at least it is something but so thayou can see for yourself we're gonnjump into an anc tessthank yoheso obviously the 1000 xm4s block out wamore noise than the xb900s that's givebut i do want to point out like i'vmentioned in the pasthe entry-level sony which 710actually managed to block out a littlmore noise than the xb900now i didn't include them in this antest for time but given that the xb900are the oldest headphones in sony'current headphone lineuas of late 2020 their anisn't as effective as newer anheadphonebecause the xb900ns came out in thsummer of 2019. regardless the anc on the xb900nis still good because it doesn't havany cabin pressurwhich is important for comfort and idoesn't change how your music soundso even though the anc on the xb900nisn't aeffective as newer 2020 anc headphonethe anc on the xb900n is still usefuand it's a feature the evos just don'havnow another feature the evos don't havis an ambient mode whereas the sony's dand the ambient mode on these headphoneis really gooit sounds very natural with zero hissinin the backgrounyou can adjust how much noise thesheadphones let iand this microphone array does a reallgood job of blocking out wind noise whewalking outdoornow i'm fully aware that the evo'bigger brothethe crusher amc's also have an ambulancbut i'm not a fan of their ambient modbecausthis ambient mode has a constant hissinin the background which is distractinand their microphone array really liketo pick up a lot of wind noise whewalking outdoorbut also the sony's have quick attentiowhere if you fully covethe touch pad there lower the volume oyour music and pump in all of thambient sound around yolike thi and then when you let go the headphonewill go back to normal againow i do feel quick attention has a loof roofor improvement but it's there busomething the crusher evo's dhave over the sony's is that they havtile suppornow personally i would prefer if thesheadphones had anand or an ambient mode but tile supporcan always come in handif you lose your backpack on campus owhile you're commutinyou're at least going to be able ttrack down your stufand finally here's the microphone tesnow thmicrophone on either of these headphoneisn't the besbut i do feel that the microphone on thsony'is better than the microphone on thevos noneither of these microphones do all thagreat of a job of blocking out ambiennoisbecause with both of these headphoneyou can clearly heathat ac unit in the backgrounbut with the sony xb900ns my voice doesound a little more natural because thimicrophone doesn't havso much amplification going on becauswith the evos there ia considerable amount of amplificatiogoing oand there's also a noticeable amount owhite noisin the background so with all that beinsailike i said at the top of this videboth of these headphones are great bashead headphones buthese headphones are very different froone anothethe sony xb900ns are the logicaand responsible choice here thesheadphones arway more comfortable than the evos syou can wear them for hours on enwithout any problemand they have active noise cancellatioand an ambient modmaking them far more versatile fodifferent situationand when it comes to their sound if yowant to feel the music then the bass othese headphonedefinitely has you covered but thanks ttheir fully customizable eq you can havthem set for different listeninsituationor if your tastes change then thesheadphones can't keep uand besides from a performancstandpoint these headphones havfar better clarity and instrumenseparation the sony xb900ns are not jusa great pair of base head headphonethey can easilserve as your daily drivers sthese are the better long-terinvestments herwhereas with the skull candy crusheevos these are better suited as a paiosecondary headphones these headphonearen't the most comfortable and sincthey lacactive noise cancelation or in ambienmode they aren'the best for commuting and they alsaren't the bessounding but the bass on thesheadphones is truly insanand is just pure dumb fun quite honestlwhen you listen to music with thesheadphones you can't help but grind froear to eaand also there's the fact that thesheadphones do feel much more premium iyour
