3's many upgrades mosexisting Standalone games are stiloptimized for the older Quest 2 on Ques3 you will get a sharper image anquicker loading times out of the bobecause of the upgraded specs but thin-game graphics will still look thsame on both devices until developeradd Quest three specific enhancementwhich might take some time hundreds oolder games that aren't updated anymormight never get the value you're looking fonow you might want to completely steeclear of the meta ecosystem so keewatching this is Apple Juice by the walet's begin with the Pico 4 also standalone VR headset that can do greaPG VR streaming it remains a soliheadset but its future is now uncertaihardware-wise the pico4 between thQuest 2 and Quest 3 it features pancaklenses are sharp display albeit thcolors are a bit washed out but it has slim comfortable design and a higheresolution than Quest 3 the trade-offare its color pass through which isn'in Stereo 3D due to the lack of a deptsensor diminishing its mixed realitpotential the P4 also uses the oldeSnapdragon chip as seen in the Quest although it has slightly more roungiven this I would say this is a stronalternative to Quest 2 but if it's choice between tfinally find a replacement for my valvindex if you recall my last year's pcvfavorite was the HP Reverb G2 buunfortunately the future of Windows mireality headsets hangs in the balancMicrosoft recently announced that theare deprecating Windows mix realitsoftware what will happen exactly wdon't know yet existing owners mighneed to cling to older versions oWindows or find workarounds to keeusing their headsets but it might nowork at all so for new buyers I cannorecommend buying a Windows mix realitheadset until we know more it's reallsad to see so many headsets kind of fadaway I do have an honorable mention aI'm still reviewing it this is the pimacrystal it's shaping up to be versatile Powerhouse in the VR worlit's kind of like the switch army knifof headsets it has a cable for PC VR anit can also be used wirelessly iStandalone mode while still packed witambitious features at its heart lies high resolution display with refresrates between 90 to 120 Herz and it habeautiful differenlenses for an expanded fov and eveupgrade the face plate to add steam VLighthouse tracking catering to what yoneed but it's a bit of a heavy weighliterally the size and comfort might nosuit everyone so I haven't been able ttest out every feature yet as pimax habeen rolling out features gradually treviewers so I've been mostly testinthe pcvr capabilities with Inside Outracking and it's visually stunning think pimax has come a long waaddressing past lens Distortion issuehowever the Inside Out tracking isuppar compared to competitors and thpotential concern is the Standalongaming experience games need to bported to the PX system and it's uncleahow extensive this Library will bsetting up the crystal is still morwork than other headsets like the Beyonyou will need to like to do somtinkering and starting a$1,350 the crystal isn't a casuapurchase this is just for the headsewith the Inside Out tracking although idoes include controllers batterbatteries and the necessary cables buyou probably want the steam VR trackinface plate for it which requireadditional Investments like the basstations and separate compatiblcontrollers plus a high-spec PC to bacit up it's a huge significant investmenbut it stays interesting if it works apromised and for those who love to divdeep into customization if that's yostay tuned for my review in quarter 1 sthat was my top PCV R for
